This is basically a player tracking input function although LEDs (ERR and OK) are available as outputs for a reader without a display. There are currently two different types of cards and card readers: 1) The Hollerith type that uses a card with punched holes for encoding and a reader utilizing LEDs and phototransistors to read it. 2) The mag stripe that uses a card with up to three magnetically encoded tracks and a reader equipped with a magnetic head to read card data.
