Ceronix 1490/1492 Control Panel Potentiometer Replacement

Oh no! You’ve got a broken knob on your poker machine’s control panel. Relax, you got this. The actual soldering part of the job is a piece of cake. What’s a lot trickier is finding the exact parts you need to fit in the holes, and fit under the metal bar. The challenge is, that there are thousands of variations on these parts and each one has a cryptic part number as shown on this datasheet. Ugh.

But fear not. I spent 3 hours on the internet looking at part numbers, so you don’t have to. First up, there are 2 different circuit boards that I know of. To identify which one you have, determine whether you have:

Version A: Smaller knobs (10 mm) mounted on three prongs

Version B: Larger knobs (15 mm) mounted on four prongs

Once you’ve got that all figured out… Here’s your parts to order. Each part is less than a dollar, so you’ll spend more on shipping than the actual components. It’s best to replace all five at once, so that you have a nice looking, long lasting repair. Also note that the knobs are sold separately from the potentiometers, and that you’ll need two of the 1K pots. Happy soldering!
